William’s inherits club legend’s No.6
Carlton’s prized recruit Zac Williams will take over the No.6 guernsey worn with distinction for the past 18 years by Kade Simpson.
Williams joined the club from the GIANTS during last year’s trade period and was handed the jumper worn in 342 games by Simpson, who retired at the end of last season.
Originally from Narrandera in NSW, the GIANTS selected Williams with pick No.55 in the 2012 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
The speedy half back played 113 games for the GIANTS before nominating Carlton as his preferred destination at the conclusion of the home-and-away season last year, signing a lucrative six-year contract.
