Wagga Wagga to Host Regional Championships
Wagga Wagga will host the 2010 AFL (NSW/ACT) Cougar Sportswear Regional Championships this weekend when the state’s best players put their respective AFL league’s on the line.
With the introduction of NSW/ACT Indigenous Australian Football Association (NAIAFA) this year, the event is quickly becoming one of the best on the calendar, bringing the most talented footballers together for a sports event.
There will be two divisions, will all teams vying to be crowned the best league at the Championships.
Riverina Football League won the Championships two years ago but the side will face tough opposition from their division one opponents, AFL Sydney Under-23’s, Black Diamond AFL and Farrer Football League.
In Division Two, NAIAFA will come up against Northern Riverina FL, Central West AFL and South Coast AFL.
All teams will play each other once on Saturday, June 12 with the top two sides playing off in the grand final the following day. The third and fourth placed teams from day one will play each other prior to the grand final.
The Division One matches will be held at Maher Oval while Division Two will be held at Robertson Oval.
