U16 RAMS ready for round 2 at nationals
The Under-16 RAMS are eagerly anticipating the second round of the NAB AFL Championships being held at Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney from Sunday.
A squad of 25-players has been chosen to represent NSW/ACT at the nationals as the team vies to take out the division two title.
With three games within six days and around the clock access to coaches, recovery sessions and match reviews, the players will be given every opportunity to develop as AFL footballers.
The RAMS head into the event full of confidence after beating Tasmania by three points in the opening round of the championships.
NSW/ACT’s first match is against Queensland on Sunday followed by South Pacific on Wednesday and to finish the event they play Northern Territory next Saturday.
Newly appointed coach Tom Harley will be looking to continue his perfect start to his RAMS career and lead the team to victory.
All 18 club talent scouts will travel to Blacktown and the Hills for the event to watch the future stars of the AFL battle it out for their respective states and countries.
This year’s event features teams from the South Pacific (countries comprising of Fiji, Tonga, Somoa, New Zealand) and the World XVIII which has players coming as far away as South Africa to play AFL.
Each state in Australia will also be represented.
