St Clare takes out SportsReady Swans Cup
Canberra-based school St Clare has taken out the first ever SportsReady Swans Cup girls opens title after defeating St Francis, Leeton in the state final at the University of Canberra today.
In the under 14s, Hunter Sports High School defeated Kildare College in the final to take out the coveted Cup.
The SportsReady Swans Cup has been providing high school students with an opportunity to play AFL since 2007. The introduction of the girls competition this year has helped to provide a pathway for participants to play the game outside of school and to establish more Youth Girls leagues throughout the state.
Teams from all over NSW and the ACT travelled to Canberra for the event.
