Saddington runs specialised training sessions
Sydney South junior club players took part in a special training session this month with AFL NSW/ACT’s Jason Saddington and Sydney Swans Academy coach Chris Hughes.
Players aged 13 and 14-years-old were selected from the seven Sydney South clubs including Cronulla, Heathcote, Miranda, Penshurst and Ramsgate, to come together for three training sessions.
It was a valuable experience for the players as they learned new skills before putting them into practice in an intra-squad match – watched by Sydney Swans Academy selectors.
In addition to the elite training provided to the players, Sydney South club coaches were encouraged to attend the sessions and learn from Jason and Chris.
Both coaches were particularly excited about having the coaches involved as they see their role as integral to the development of future AFL stars from the area.
