Richmond set to return to Lavington in 2021

Richmond will kick-off its 2021 campaign with a pre-season fixture against the Western Bulldogs at Lavington Sportsground on February 27, returning to the ground for the first time since 2015.

The clash, starting at 4.40pm, will be the Tigers’ first of two AFL Community Series matches. Richmond will also travel to Adelaide to play the Crows at Flinders University Stadium on Sunday March 7, at 12.40pm ACDT.

Richmond has played pre-season matches in Wangaratta and Shepparton in recent years, which along with Albury-Wodonga sits within the Club’s Next Generation Academy region.

“Through Aligned Leisure, Richmond Institute and our Next Generation Academy, Albury-Wodonga has become an even more significant region for our Club,” Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said.

“This is another exciting opportunity for us to showcase the area and strengthen our existing ties with the local community.”
