The 2018 NEAFL Fixture was released today with all four AFL NSW/ACT clubs featuring heavily in exciting events across the year.

Canberra will host the first ever Good Friday NEAFL match when they take on the Southport Sharks at Allinsure Park on March 30, opening the 2018 season. Following the AFL’s lead in introducing football to Good Friday for the first time last year, the NEAFL will bring the game to Canberran’s on the public holiday.

The NEAFL will go regional in 2018 with New South Wales towns, Lismore and Wollongong hosting NEAFL matches for the first time.

The Swans will head north to Lismore for Round 4 on April 24 to face the Gold Coast, while a Sydney Derby between the GIANTS and Swans will be played in Wollongong during Round 14 on July 7.

The NEAFL Grand Final re-match between the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions will be played in Round 2, with a home game for the Lions at Burpengary. Can the Swans make up for the Grand Final loss on their way to 2018 glory, we’ll find out on April 14.

As one of 24 AFL curtain raisers across the NEAFL season (seven to be held at the SCG and eight at Spotless Stadium), the Sydney Swans will host Sydney University at the SCG in Round 9. Taking place prior to the Swans and Fremantle match, this will also be the first time we see Sydney University’s new player signings, Brandon Jack and Craig Bird come up against their former AFL team.

The NEAFL kicks off on March 30, 2018.
