NAIAFA thank GO Foundation
NSW-ACT Indigenous Australian Football Association (NAIAFA) would like to thank the Goodes-O’Loughlin Foundation (GO Foundation) for their support of the NAIAFA team that competed in the AFL (NSW/ACT) Regional Championships held from June 12 to 14 in Wagga Wagga.
The money donated by the GO Foundation went towards supplying team members with jumpers and accommodation.
The GO Foundation’s logo featured predominately on the guernseys and team polo shirts which were worn to all games and the event’s function night. All players and supporters were proud to wear the logo and represent the GO Foundation’s cause.
The weekend was a great success for NAIAFA with the side going undefeated winning the division two grand final by ten goals.
The team will endeavour to play Division 1 in future carnivals and with the Indigenous talent throughout NSW/ACT along with the continued support from organisations such as the GO Foundation, there is no reason why NAIAFA cannot be competitive against the stronger leagues.
Another highlight from the event was the selection of one of the side’s young players into the NSW Country Squad. Leroy Eggmolesse was chosen in the training squad of 40 players. The final team will participate at this year’s Landmark Australian Country Carnival in Canberra from July 22 to 25.
NAIAFA looks forward to a continued relationship with the GO Foundation. GO Foundation was set up by two Sydney Swans greats, Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, and the organisation is helping to bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
