NAB Auskick Coordinators of the Year
AFL NSW/ACT is pleased to announce the 20 winners of the NAB Auskick Coordinators of the Year award.
The award aims to recognise the hard work and contribution made by all coordinators to successfully manage and run NAB Auskick in NSW and the ACT.
Throughout the state and territory there are seven regions and the various winners stood out throughout the year displaying excellent managerial and personal skills.
The effort put in by all Auskick coordinators cannot be underestimated with the volunteers sparing their time to provide children with an opportunity to play sport.
AFL (NSW/ACT) State Auskick Administrator Tom Hunter said all coordinators should be congratulated for their efforts in 2010.
“The AFL greatly appreciates the time and commitment put in by the Auskick coordinators throughout the year,” Hunter said.
“Without the support of everyone involved in the program, NAB Auskick would not exist at the level it does today.
“The support of NAB has been pivotal to acknowledging and rewarding the efforts of the Auskick coordinators who have shown outstanding leadership in 2010.
“Thank you for everyone involved this year and we look forward to an even bigger year in 2011.”
NAB Auskick is the AFL’s introductory AFL program for children and is designed to give kids a fun, safe and inclusive environment to play AFL in. This year saw a five percent growth across NSW and the ACT.
The aim of the Auskick Coordinators is to manage and run Auskick centres at clubs and some after school programs.
Volunteers play a key role in the running of NAB Auskick and provide tremendous support for all local clubs. The AFL cannot express enough gratitude for all involved in creating quality club environments.
AFL (NSW/ACT) Participation Manager Simon Wilson said volunteers make up the spine of all clubs and should be congratulated for their hard work.
“The work undertaken by all volunteers in the community is reflected on the number of happy faces running around in their Auskick gear each week,” Wilsons said.
“The NAB Auskick Coordinators of the Year award is a great recognition of the commitment put in by the volunteers.
“Clubs are always seeking more hands to help with the week to week duties of the club. The more volunteers on deck, the better the clubs will be.”
