NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year
Andrew Kitchen was announced the inaugural NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year at the official NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer Brunch in Melbourne on Grand Final day.
Congratulated by Daniel Lecordier from NAB and Leigh Montagna from the St Kilda Football Club, Andrew received $5,000 in a NAB account and a spot on the trip of a lifetime, travelling through Europe with the 2012 AIS-AFL Academy Tour.
Andrew was selected as the overall winner of the NAB AFL Auskick Award as he has fostered a culture of family involvement in Auskick at the Willoughby Wildcats NAB AFL Auskick Centre, which has encouraged parents and family members to get involved at the centre.
Participation numbers have grown significantly under Andrew’s management, with a total of 140 participants, a 20 percent increase.
Andrew is responsible for the management of all three age groups and their relevant coaches and volunteers.
He is dedicated to promoting the centre, having recently coordinated 100 Auskickers and their families to be involved in an Auskick Clinic that was broadcast on ‘Sunday Sunrise’ on Channel 7.
Next year, in partnership with the AFL, the NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year Award will again reward 94 volunteers from around the country for their dedication and commitment to their local NAB AFL Auskick Centre.
