Jump on the Swans bandwagon!

More than 55,000 fans are expected to pack ANZ Stadium on Friday night for the huge clash between the Sydney Swans and Collingwood and what better way to travel to the big game than on a special ‘Swannified’ bus!

Four specially-decorated Hillsbuses will be decked out in streamers, flags and balloons as they ferry people to Friday’s game on the Dural to Sydney Olympic Park route.

Swans fan Chris Cunliffe-Jones, who has been a bus driver for five years, will be in charge of one of the red and white buses and can’t wait to be amongst the crowd in the lead up to the huge Preliminary Final.

“The Swans crowd, there’s something special about them,” he said.

“It’s a real family-oriented crowd and they’re all so passionate.”

“On the route from Dural to Olympic Park we do Rugby League, Rugby Union and big events like the Easter Show but there’s special support for the Swans out in the Dural/Cherrybrook area and we always carry big numbers of Swans fans out to the games.”

All tickets to the Sydney Swans Preliminary Final match at ANZ Stadium include entry and return travel on CityRail trains, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Bus Services, regular Sydney Buses (STA), Liverpool to Parramatta T-way buses and Sydney Ferries services.

Buses are operating on all major routes across Sydney and direct train services are operating to Olympic Park Station from Central and Blacktown stations from 5.30pm.

Once his driving duties are done, Cunlisse-Jones is eager to catch the game before driving some hopefully victorious Swans fans home.

“There’s only one way to tip isn’t there, and that’s the Swans because I’m hoping we can keep the decorations up for another week!”
