Jack finishes fourth

After leading the count going in to the Swans round 22 clash against Geelong, Jack was pipped at the post, finishing four votes behind Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury, who took out the award, three votes behind Gold Coast’s Gary Ablett and two behind Geelong’s Joel Selwood.
The four leaders in the final voting all received votes in round 23 – Pendlebury (nine), Ablett (10), Selwood (two), while Jack received two votes after picking up 27 possessions, 13 inside 50s, four clearances and laid five tackles in the 12-point loss to Hawthorn.
Josh Kennedy continued his strong finish to the home and away season, finishing as the Swans highest vote-getter against the Hawks with eight votes from John Longmire and Alastair Clarkson.
Kennedy picked up 33 disposals – 19 of which were contested – and nine clearances, while Luke Parker (19 possessions and three goals) was the next best Swan with three votes.
Shane Mumford (17 disposals, six tackles, two goals, two goal assists and 41 hit outs) picked up two votes for his performance, while Hawthorn’s Jarryd Roughead finished as the best player on the ground with nine votes and four goals.
