Female Indigenous Youth Leadership Program begins

Last weekend, AFL NSW/ACT and Transport for NSW hosted the first Female Indigenous Youth Leadership Program at Sydney Olympic Park to encourage road safety awareness, leadership and well being among young Indigenous women.

Following the successful Adam Goodes Talent Program proudly supported by the NSW Government that worked with young men, AFL NSW/ACT was proud to deliver this first camp for girls and will continue to do so for the next three years thanks to a new partnership with the Government.

GIANTS’ AFLW player Delma Gisu attended the program in Sydney Olympic Park and shared her experience as an elite player with 24 talented young women from across New South Wales.

The GIANTS allowed the players utilise their elite training facilities and invited the players to watch their victory against Collingwood at GIANTS stadium.

The players not only improved their knowledge on the field, but also took part in vital leadership sessions and workshops focused on road safety.
