Facility grants program now open
Local AFL clubs are encouraged to apply for the 2011 Community Grants Program.
About the program
The primary focus of this program is to assist with the funding for the development of local and regional level sport and recreation facilities. The aim of this program is to increase the availability, standard and quality of sport and recreation facilities in NSW. For more information, please click here.
What are the objectives of this program?
• Increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport, recreation or structured physical activity in a sustainable manner.
• Improve access for people from groups that traditionally find it difficult to access sport.
• Improve safety at sport and recreation facilities.
• Develop environmentally sustainable sport and recreation facilities.
• Assist people from identified groups that face barriers to participating in sport and recreation
Who can apply?
• NSW incorporated, community based not-for-profit organisations
• NSW Local Government Authorities operating under the Local Government Act (1993)
What level of funding is available?
• Grants are available from $500 – $200,000
Note: Grant amount requested cannot be more than 50 percent of the project cost. Organisational contribution can include voluntary labour. It is expected that the applicant will cover any administration costs incurred with the project.

When can I apply?
The Sport and Recreation facility grant program is now open and you can start to prepare your application now. The online application system will become available 9am, 3rd March 2011.
Applications close 5pm, 15 April 2011.
