n 2016, AFL NSW/ACT launched the first ever Female AFL Academies in the region, giving 200 females the opportunity to hone their skills ahead of the AFL Women’s competition in 2017.

In 2017, the female academies will be based across five regions – Sydney East, Sydney West, Canberra, Wagga Wagga, and Newcastle.
