Do you know the next junior sports star?
The NewsLocal Junior Sports Star Awards program recognises and celebrates junior sporting talent.
Now in its twelfth year, the NewsLocal Junior Sport Star Awards bring the endeavours and successes of future champions to the attention of their local area.
It gives giving the community the opportunity to embrace and support their sports stars of the future.
In 2016, NewsLocal newspapers call for nominations for outstanding athletes in the following four categories:
- Young Sporting Spirit – recognises athletes who overcome obstacles, demonstrate sportsmanship and dedication in their sport (aged 10 to 16)
- Junior Sports Star – recognises athletes who show the greatest achievement in their chosen sporting discipline (aged 10 to 16)
- Service to sport – recognises an individual club member or volunteer of a sporting organisation in their local community who shows passion spirit and determination (18 years and older)
- Team spirt – recognises a team that has played fairly and in the spirit of the game (aged 10 to 16)
Nominations close 28 October, 2016.
The stories and achievements of these nominees will feature each week in the local newspapers and website.
