AFL Diversity Championships: Day Three results

The AFL NSW/ACT Kickstart and All Nations teams played in their last matches of the 2018 AFL National Diversity Championships this morning in Blacktown.

In the Kickstart Semi-Finals, the locals came up against South Australia.

Even though the South Australians had only lost two matches across the entire Kickstart competition, the AFL NSW/ACT side still pushed their opponents. The battle was fierce in the middle, while the home side gave it their all.

Hunter McAuliffe kicked a goal but was unlucky not to have three to his name, hitting the post twice. Tyron Edwards also bagged a six-pointer.

In the end, the South Australians were too strong for the AFL NSW/ACT side, beating out the locals by 41 points and bundling them out of the race to the Kickstart Championship.

It was a similar story for the All Nations team too, who also came up against South Australia.

Having pushed South Australia in the earlier rounds of the tournament, only losing out by two points on Day One of competition, the AFL NSW/ACT All Nations side were fired up to make the next round of finals.

It was not to be however, with the South Australians overrunning the locals by 40 points.

Despite this, the All Nations squad left the field in high spirits, singing their team song and lifting two of their best performers, Thomas Sase and Jamal Bednarz on their shoulders.

AFL Victoria and AFL Tasmania will do-battle in tomorrow’s All Nations Grand Final, while the South Australians will take on Western Australia in the Kickstart Grand Final.
