Dippa visits Sydney
Robert “Dippa” DiPierdomenico was in Sydney on Tuesday, July 27, as part of his Indigenous engagement visits following his racial comments about Brownlow medallist Gavin Wanganeen.
During the visit, Dippa undertook a number of activities including having morning tea with the Redfern Koori Elder’s group.
Following the morning tea, Dippa had an exclusive interview with Michael O’Loughlin and the Indigenous radio station Koori Radio where he spoke about Indigenous issues in the game.
This was then followed up with a tour of the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence and two workshops with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) and National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA).
The afternoon was spent conducting a workshop at the Exodus Foundation Tutorial Centre where Dippa was informed of the services provided to Indigenous youth.
To finish the day, Dippa attended Blacktown Olympic Park and visited the Campbelltown Academy session at Monarch Oval.
Overall it was a very valuable experience for Robert DiPierdomenico to see the Indigenous programs operating in Sydney.
