Community Building Partnership Program opens

The NSW Government has announced that the Community Building Partnership Program to assist community AFL clubs, has opened for 2017.

The program is open to clubs, associations, councils, and schools to assist with infrastructure-based projects, which meet a need of the local community. Any club which has plans to build or upgrade the AFL facilities in their community, is strongly encouraged to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

Each New South Wales state member has $300,000 to allocate to their electorate at their discretion, which is generally split across numerous projects with the average successful grant being around $20,000.

Each project application will be assessed against the Project Assessment Criteria, which is outlined below:

Enhances facilities: The project develops a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community through the enhancement or construction of community infrastructure;

Meets community need: The project supports activities and services needed by local communities;

Increases community participation: The project encourages participation in activities or services needed by a broad section of the community; and

Organisation capacity: The applicant has the capacity to deliver the project on time and within scope

Projects must be completed before the end of March 2019. There is no requirement from clubs to contribute any funding to the project (although it always helps).

To complete an online application form or get more information on the program, please go to the Community Building Partnerships website.

Applications will be accepted until 5pm on Wednesday, 9 August 2017.
