Combined High Schools Carnival – Finals
The CCC/CIS South has won this year’s Combined High Schools State Carnival in Albury this week. CCC/CIS South overcame CCC/CIS North by 18 points in what was a very entertaing grand final.
In the other matches, Riverina Murray defeated South Coast by 26 points to take out third place, while Sydney and Riverina South West won their final matches to take out fifth and seventh honours respectively.
Over eight teams travelled to Albury to take part in the NSW 15-years-old and under Championships, with a number of players impressing on the big stage. A team of 23 players will be selected from the carnival to represent NSW in the upcoming National Championships being held in Perth later in the year.
For many students, the week provided them with a rare opportunity to showcase their talents and to compete against players from all over the state.
With Team GWS’ Paul Kelly watching on, there was plenty to play for during the three day event.
