Cameron runner-up in Rising Star
19 year-old Cameron, who kicked 29 goals from just 16 games in his debut season, was one of a record eight nominees from the GIANTS for the highest individual honour for a young AFL player.
Talia, in his third year of AFL football with the Crows, won the award with 43 votes after playing all 22 games this year. Cameron finished second with 35 votes.
Mitch Wallis from the Western Bulldogs finished third with 19 votes and Adam Treloar got reward for his hard work this season finishing in fourth place. Stephen Coniglio finished in eighth place.
Despite averaging 28 possesions for the year, Toby Greene was ineligible to win the award due to suspension. Devon Smith, Dylan Shiel, Tomas Bugg and Dom Tyson were also nominated in the GIANTS inaugural season.
All nominee attended today’s presentation in Melbourne alongside their families and those who helped mentor them in junior football.
