Auskicker Emmalee to star at Grand Final

Newington NAB AFL Auskicker, Emmalee Beggs, will well and truly be ‘Footified’ by NAB when she plays on the MCG during the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

She was selected by NAB and the AFL, ahead of thousands of other entries based on her outstanding attitude and approach to the game.

This year, 22 Auskickers who best reflect dedication, enthusiasm, teamwork and passion will travel to Melbourne to participate in a money-can’t-buy experience. They will march in the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade, play on the MCG on Grand Final day and present medals to the 2013 premiership players.

In addition to the Toyota AFL Grand Final experience of a lifetime, Emmalee is now in the running to win $5,000 in a NAB Smart Junior Saver account plus Geelong Captain and three-time premiership player Joel Selwood as her personal footy mentor in 2014.

Concord Giants JAFC Auskick Centre Coordinator, Steve McKenzie, said the competition was extremely popular amongst Concord kids last year and they have all been eager to be nominated in 2013.

“This is such a fantastic initiative by NAB to recognise the youngest stars of the game. This Award looks beyond the best player on the ground; and instead emphasises the importance of being a good teammate and looking out for others.

“No doubt all Concord Giants will be looking out for Emmalee on Grand Final Day, as we all support her in true AFL Community spirit,” Steve said.

NAB has been Footifying Australia for over 10 years through NAB AFL Auskick, the NAB AFL Rising Stars Program and NAB Cup. Every week, NAB Footifies 180,000 children and their parents as they head to one of 2,800 Auskick centres around the country to participate in NAB AFL Auskick.

Why should Emmalee be the 2013 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year?
As a girl in NSW it is odd for Emmalee to have taken such a strong interest in AFL at an early age.  Emmalee plays really hard and is one of the best in her auskick age group, often showing the boys up. She plays and trains with great flair and hopes to play for as long as she can. She loves going to training and learning more and loves practicing AFL after school with dad and brothers.Emmalee’s passion and commitment makes her the perfect nominee for womens round as she is a great ambassador for girls in AFL.
