Youth Girls in for a big week on the Gold Coast

The NSW/ACT Youth Girls will travel to Queensland this week to play out the final stages of the 2017 NAB AFL Women’s U18 Championships.

They face a big week ahead with three matches in five days as the competition heats up on the Gold Coast.

The NSW/ACT Youth Girls will be looking to bounce back after disappointing results in May, where they lost to both Queensland and Western Australia in Sydney.

Their Round 1 match against Queensland was a tight contest in tough conditions. Despite the narrow three-point defeat, the NSW/ACT Youth Girls squad will take many positives from that game, with them as they fly north.

NSW/ACT Youth Girls Head Coach, Tim Schmidt named Alyce Parker, Haneen Zreika and Jordyn Jolliffe as the stand out performers for the team last time around. All three will need to bring their best to the Gold Coast to help lead their side to success.

The NSW/ACT team’s first game of the week is against the Allies – coached by AFLW Premiership winning coach Bec Goddard – on Monday at Bond University. They take on Vic Country at Broadbeach on Wednesday, followed by the final game of the Championships against Vic Metro on Friday.

All three games are available to stream LIVE through the AFL Women’s YouTube channel.
