Swans and GIANTS Youth Girls sides announced
The Under-16 Sydney Swans and GIANTS Female Academy sides have been announced ahead of the upcoming Academy Series in Blacktown.
The two sides were selected following the Regional Academy Games held on April 13-14 in Newcastle, and will travel to Sydney for matches against each other on May 25 and June 2.

From these matches, the final 2019 Under-16 AFL NSW/ACT Rams Youths Girls team will be selected. The Under-16 Rams will then play Vic Metro in Albury on June 9.
Under-16 Rams Head Coach, Scott Reid said he is looking forward to seeing what the two teams produce in Blacktown.
“The level development at this early stage of their football journey was pleasing to see and competition for spots was becoming increasingly difficult as the carnival [in Newcastle] progressed,” said Reid.
“We were particularly looking for athletes that could kick, show some confidence in their skill set, and back themselves when it came to taking the game on.
“A great opportunity exists for all these young ladies. The key is for them to make the most of every opportunity they get. They have all got something that has brought them to this point.
“Game on.”
