The Basic Umpires Course outlines the basic skills and knowledge required for field, boundary and goal umpires. Umpiring promotes decision making, self confidence, communication skills (both verbal and non verbal) and conflict resolution.

Target Age: Over 13 years of age
Length of Program: Seven one hour sessions
Staff Time: This program is staffed by the AFL(NSW/ACT). Teacher commitment includes:
• Assistance with supervision of students
• Assistance with circulation and collation of registration forms
As part of the program students are expected to complete a practical session with AFL(NSW/ACT) umpiring staff.
Registration: To participate in this program students are required to complete registration forms.
