The Parramatta Lions Junior AFL Club is offering all interested families the opportunity to participate in the Lions CUBS Program – an initiative aimed at introducing children to Auskick and Junior Football.

Each week, kids play various AFL activities, learn new skills and make new friends. Parent information sessions are also held to enable families to get a taste of what AFL is about.

Held from 6-7.30pm at Doyle Ground in Parramatta, the CUBS Program runs each Thursday evening during March and is open to all children aged five to twelve years.

Last Thursday night saw thirty enthusiastic kids come together to play a game of handball footy.

“It’s great to see such a diverse population of people from the Parramatta area coming together and getting involved” AFL NSW/ACT Young Leader Tarron Berry said.

The program is absolutely free and once the children feel comfortable, they can also join one of the teams being fielded by the Parramatta Lions this season including Auskick and Youth teams including Youth Girls Under 12’s and 15’s.

If you are interested in registering your child for CUBS Program, you can register by contacting Greg Talbot on 0433 045 447 or by greg.talbot@afl.com.au
