Sydney to host National Male Diversity Champs

Western Sydney will host the 2018 National Male Diversity Championships for the second year running next month.

Over 300 players from all the states and territories will attend the five day tournament being held at Blacktown International Sportspark between April 14-19.

Players from Indigenous and Multicultural backgrounds will represent their state or territory’s Kickstart (Indigenous) or All Nations (Multicultural) squads.

Beginning with the traditional Opening Ceremony, the boys aged 14 and 15 will then play in a minimum of six matches during the round-robin event, culminating in two Grand Finals – Kickstart and All Nations. Following the tournament, the national ‘Flying Boomerangs’ (Indigenous) and ‘World Team’ (Multicultural) squads will be selected.

Throughout the 2018 National Male Diversity Championships, players, coaches and umpires will also attend educational seminars, led by key leaders in their communities.

The AFL NSW/ACT Kickstart and All Nations squads to attend the Championships will be announced in the coming weeks.
