An elite group of 31 players have been selected in the 2016 AFL NSW/ACT TAC Cup Rams squad.

The talented athletes will head into camp in Melbourne this Friday to prepare for a practice match against Vic Country scheduled for 1pm on Sunday at Ikon Park.

The Rams will play their first game in the 2016 TAC Cup on April 16 against the Calder Cannons followed by a match against the Dandenong Stingrays on April 23.

The squad was chosen from the recent AFL NSW/ACT Academy Series played between the Sydney Swans and the GWS Giants U18 Academy sides.

NSW/ACT State Head Coach Tadhg Kennelly is eager to see what his squad can offer against some of Victoria’s most talented players.

“After a very competitive Academy series and a long pre-season, we have selected a strong TAC Cup squad, made up of 15 Swans and 16 GIANTS players,” Kennelly said.

“We’re looking forward to testing ourselves against the best players in Victoria in the TAC Cup competition starting against Vic Country this weekend.”
